How many types of polythene are there?

Collectively, Polyethylene is the most common plastics in the world, but it’s classified into three types: High-Density, Low-Density and Linear Low-Density.

Polyethylenes are classified mainly into Three types, which include: low-density PE (LDPE) with density ranging between 0.910 and 0.940 g/cm³, linear low-density PE (LLDPE) with density ranging between 0.910 and 0.920 g/cm³, and high-density PE (HDPE) with density ranging between 0.941 and 0.967 g/cm³.

Generally speaking, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Is much more crystalline, and is often used in entirely different circumstances than Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). For example, LDPE is widely used in plastic packaging, such as for grocery bags or plastic wrap.

High-density polyethylene (HDPE)

Same as LDPE, PP is considered a safer plastic option for food and drink use.

Polypropylene (PP) is One of the most commonly used thermoplastics in the world. Polypropylene uses range from plastic packaging, plastic parts for machinery and equipment and even fibres and textiles.
